Writing For Helium

It seems that writers here on Experts Column are looking for other sites where they can publish their articles and earn from them. There are many sites out there who promise to pay you for your articles. Some provide revenue sharing while the others give upfront payments. There is one writing site where you can have both options and that’s Helium.com.

I joined Helium in 2009, back when “content farming” was relatively new.I applied for a writer post, submitted a writing sample, and was accepted. You will undergo the same process if you apply for a Helium account now.

Before you apply for a writer’s account, I suggest you create your own online portfolio or articles which the Helium editors can refer to.Make sure, though, that you use the same name or by-line for all these articles.Another thing you should do is to complete your Helium profile and make it “marketable” – inform your readers what you specialize in, about your writing or work experience, etc.

Once your writer’s account is approved, you will find that there are literally hundreds of article assignments open to you. When you choose an article to write, you will be given a deadline.Usually, a writer is given about a week to finish an article. If you find that you will be unable to write the article or meet the deadline, you can always withdraw from the assignment. Many of these assignments are for revenue sharing. The assignments that give one-time or upfront payments are usually those that are near the deadlines already.

Helium is not just a content farm; it is also a content provider. It provides content services to clients from all over the world. As a Helium writer, you have the opportunity to apply as a professional journalist or freelance writer and have access to their marketplace. This marketplace gives you a chance to write for clients who will pay you for your services.
